Energy Conservation
Our team is passionate about Energy Conservation. Our community approach starts by getting to know you and your properties. We collect conversations, observations, measurements, and data and begin by building a profile of the building. From there, we identify a range of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) and present them to you with full transparency to costs, benefits, pros, cons, and estimated savings.
Renewable Energy
"Conservation Before Generation" is a core philosophy of ours, because our experience has proven repeatedly that it is far less expensive and simpler to save energy than it is to generate it. With that said, once we've considered all ECMs and lowered your consumption as much as possible, it's time to switch hats and generate as much renewable energy as possible. Whether it's solar, wind, or some other new innovation, Our goal is always to support communities in achieve maximum energy self-sufficiency.
Deep Retrofit Planning
"Deep Retrofits" involve a layered and holistic approach to building renovations and modernizations. Deep Retrofits usually combine elements of conservation, insulation, generation, and adaptation and may involve multiple subject matter experts and vendors. The goal here is to make affordable, practical, thoughtful retrofits to existing buildings in order to dramatically reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions while improving comfort, safety, and climate resiliency.
Funding Support Services
From 2024 until Mar. 31, 2027 The LEAP Group is excited to offer our partner communities funding research and support services on a 100% cost covered basis. This means that we can dedicate our internal resources to supporting you in finding funding programs to put your Deep Retrofit plans into action. We can research programs and share our findings with you and your team. We can support your current grant writer in any technical aspects that they may need, and we can also write grant applications together or independently.
Guiding Building Owners
A big part of what we do is guiding building owners through the deep retrofit process. Projects of this nature involve multiple steps, multiple subject matter experts, multiple vendors, and sometimes conflicting priorities and timelines. We are set up to offer advice, support, technical services, and even to act as Owner's representatives when it comes time to apply for funding, to solicit contractors to bid, to receive, register, and rank incoming bids, and manage one or multiple aspects of any given project.
Building Capacity
The LEAP Group in partnership with CIER is honoured to have received capacity building funding that allows us to support your community in building capacity when it comes to advancing deep retrofit projects. Our goal is to work with your community to identify opportunities for economic development, capacity building, and job creation, and to help put plans and proposals together to make them happen.
